Xara Ltd's first Windows product was launched in 1994, a mainstream vector illustration package called Xara Studio.
Shortly after the release of Xara Studio V.1, Xara began a marketing and distribution co-operation with Corel Corporation, as a result of which Corel took on exclusive responsibility for the world-wide distribution of Xara Studio (renamed CorelXARA). Xara Ltd has continued to develop CorelXARA and with the end of the Corel agreement in 2000, Xara Ltd once more has the opportunity to distribute its flagship world-class vector illustration package - now renamed and relaunched as Xara X - a significantly enhanced and improved program. Xara X is now being sold alongside our other graphics products aimed specifically at Web graphic designers, Xara3D and Xara WebStyle.

Xara Ltd took an early interest in the Internet and although our ISP interests were sold in 1997 (they now form part of XO), Xara Ltd remains completely committed to the Internet, both in terms of software distribution and development direction. Our software has been sold and delivered over the Internet since 1997, which has provided the opportunity for Xara Ltd to grow into a truly international company, selling over 90% of its products outside the UK.
